EMc Recruitment drive

Oh it started with me wanting a job.I actually got a job in IBM but it was a dream to work forr my friends company. So after 5 weeks of waiting for the call to come, a call letter for the aptitude test finally arrived.I didn't know what to expect in an aptitude test,I studied all the basic questions that could have been asked and I thought that the going would be smooth.I reached the place a good half an hour early only to see to my surprise a long queue of wannabes standing in a snake like train which started from the college gate and covering all of the campus ended at the Rear gate of the college. As I was writing this post,I hadn't moved an inch since the time I came.It was a long wait, anyways I was jobless and I'm tired of sitting at home.Ok ! so i got through this line after a good two hours and then i reached the main gate of the college ,checked my documents and to my surprise there was another queue of people waiting to get in to the college for the aptitude. It was 0830 hrs when i reached the college gate and when i crossed this line it was 1245 hrs and i went in for the aptitude test. Some guy gave us a speech that it was for people who were comfortable working in all shifts. And then preceded the aptitude test for an hour. They gave us a paper to write our contact details and i filled all those in,wrote the aptitude test as well. The questions were a bit tough and i wrote all the answers feeling optimistic and when the results were announced on a mike in front of 500 people anxiously waiting to go home ,there came my name and i was shocked to hear my name at first but i realized that maybe i was dumb enough to have cleared this test. The next round was screening by a HR from the company with simple questions like introduction, why do u want to join this company etc.I cleared this round as well.I was waiting for the third round to happen and suddenly out of the blue a guy comes up saying that the guys who are based in Bangalore can leave for the day and the others who have come from different colleges outside of Bangalore can stay and only their rounds will be taken.I was literally tired and I hadn't had a single grain of food since morning and I decided to leave as i was hungry ,tired and famished .I thought these guys would give me a call and as it was supposed to be I never got a call from the company. My dream was shattered and I still wish that i would have stayed for that extra hour or two and my life would have changed for the better.I don't believe in destiny but I believe in being their at the right place at the right moment to grab the opportunity. If u miss that you have to wait for your next shot. But u know as Eminem said it "U only get one shot do not miss ur chance to blow .This opportunity comes once in a lifetime ."

Sheldon cooper, Big Bang and my Similarities with Both

The character Sheldon Cooper is played by Jim parsons ,coincidentally even my first name is the same.Over the years i have observed the character and my strange resemblance to his character inspired me to write this post.Although i do not resemble the character in every aspect that he portrays but I strangely also have the habit of getting up before the alarm comes up.I didn't have the habit of doing so unless I started watching it,but it just happened to me.As i started watching the show,I could relate myself to the character living a life with all the devices, being free of social interactions in real life but having a different life online.Being in love with movies ,games and living in a fantasy world which is again another major similarity with me.Living a fictional life and believing everything which happens in the movies to be real is also a major similarity with me and him.I used to believe whatever that happened in the movies is real and I would love one day to be there out in space meeting Silver Surfer and be a protector of this galaxy. The other thing about Sheldon Cooper and me is our Diet,we eat things on a specific day.We never live to eat and we always eat to live. The other thin is we are both workaholics and we can stay up all night and not sleep till we have a result.Though we are from very diverse backgrounds and we love what we do,people still think we are weird. What i don't understand about Sheldon is he defines happiness in a different manner and he says he is happy but is he really?

Job Search

It all started with me lookin for a job.I had no graduation to show to my employers and a bunch of lies that i had to practice and which i had to assert positively to my employers.I always had a different story to tell them as they would never hire anyone having an engineering background of any sort.So this is the second time i am looking for such kind of a job. After the consistent harassment of the consultancy people calling me up i finally reached a consultancy and they said my skills were good enough to get me a job with some help from the consultant getting a fake experience certificate. He was pretty confident about and he said its not a big deal,i said ok lets try this out also, who the hell gives a rats ass about such kind of a job.So the interview was supposed to be at 6,i reached there at 6.30.One round with the big fat lady and another with an American called Andrew. After the fake accent interview,i was waiting for the result from the big fat lady and she said the joining is tomorrow and to bring all the relevant documents needed for the Induction. So I went the next day with all the documents that were necessary and we were asked to sit in a room .After that the induction started and we had to fill all the forms as per the tradition so after that we had a crappy dinner and after that we went to the floor and I could see 20 people sitting on the floor taking calls and it was like watching Manorama meaning not a single girl was present. And amid all this we wanted to go out for a smoke and they were not ready to give our mobiles and we were not allowed to go out also.Spending 9 hours in that shit place was a challenge in itself. After finishing work I was supposed to get dropped and there comes a nano and an Omni,I was literally pissed at that and I was never to be seen in that company ever again.A bad start to the year 2012.

Training in the BPO

So in my travel to different companies i have realized that there are a lot of jobless people in this world,as i go to different companies i see lots of people around, different characters of the same movie i would say.The characters are the same but the companies change. So whenever you go to a company especially a good one you would come across a tech freak,a Bollywood fan,an avid lover of music,a gamer,a car lover,an over enthusiastic female,a reserved girl and a married woman looking to pass time and earn some money.Different protagonists, one script, one aim-to fight it out for the money.Coming to the shooting location, its usually a perfect setting, a picturesque feel of a MNC it looks like one but you know what goes inside doesn't usually come out the right way.Coming to the staff of the company they need females who are beautiful and can speak English no degrees matter because this is India my friend. So the recruiters usually have a soft corner for the opposite sex and they do select people who really crave for money. As the saying "Beggars cannot be choosers" hence the higher number of losers. Now coming to the process training its no fun, they promote a guy who has very less knowledge of the English language to teach process and the end result is everybody passes training with flying colours. The trainer tells you its going to be a smooth ride but when you come to think of it,you were busy tripping on one thing or the other to really mind what went on in the training. The best part is you're left to your solitude and nobody in the world disturbs you whilst you're sleeping your way towards the end of the day. This happens in all the training programs in all the multinational companies. This was just a trailer of the movie which you can expect in your future.

HANGOUTS @ THE DEN

Two opposites hanging out over the pretext of chilling out over a footaball game sounds spectacular. This summed up with booze flying around and new people coming every weekend and football's always there to start of a heated discussion. So this happens every weekend in most of the places in the world, but those are the times you like the most as you experience and enjoy every moment of it.The Master chefs working on some dish ,trying out different recipes,if you miss out on one week then you miss out on a lotta things. So this happens in most of the places in all the metros of the world but being with friends gives you a different kind of pleasure and enjoyment. The bachelors and spinzters all hangout at different places of the world,I don't know why they do it but that is what is called Social Life according to Humans and that is natural protocol according to the Homosapiens. And weekends mostly get exciting because of the football that is being played in the UK but discussed a lot in India .On the pretext of watching the game between some of their favourite clubs and different loyalties to their clubs. And then its all about how faithful you are to a particular club. The guys always have different reasons to drink together. If you ask a guy why in the world do you drink so much,he'll give you a lot of reasons none truthful enough but still a very valid reason. He won't let you leave any discussion that easily if he has a glass in his hand. These are the most awesome times though all bachelors hanging out together discussing recent happenings around the world ,discussing their future plans.Once everyone gets married then these nights will get shorter, no more parties,no more time for football, no more hangover just tensions about EMI s, loans ,kids, future, status etcetera. I don't know how these people would change overnight. But during my travels I've realized that times change and people change with em.

We the tweeple

I liked the name of the show obviously, how they changed the name of the show to signify the importance of this episode.Barkha invited the best people from all aspects of life in India to emphasize the importance of living a tweet life and the difference of living a normal one.How tweeting had changed many people's lives, and how people were living every moment of their lives again and again by posting it online. There was a lady who tweeted through her pregnancy, another who posted a blog which went viral. All the reviews on this kind of a topic made it a episode worth watching. The tweeple in the audience presented their own idea of how it could be used to make a more better India. The leaders of India could use social networking to connect with the youth. These were different points which were made.It was a good episode to start of the new year. o

Experiment with cooking

So here i was alone again, the power was down and i was hungry as always. So i was waiting for the power to come back so i was in quite a fix, whether to risk cooking or get food from outside. As i was in two minds i waited for 2 hours and still the power was not back.So i decided to go out for a stroll @9.As i walked down the street off to the main road,I could see lights everywhere. So i decided to give up my plan of buying food from outside and giving a shot. But when i returned the power had still not come,I didn't have the energy to go back and get food.So i decided to test my patience and let the power come back. The power was back and i quickly put some Dal cut tomato and added the required masalas and waited for the whistles of the pressure cooker. After four whistles and the power coming and going,I was literally pissed. So I decided to switch off the cooker and I forgot to let out the pressure and boom goes the top of the vessel and Dal literally everywhere. There was a feeling of curiosity, anxiousness and perplexity, when i tried opening that vessel. After all this i prepared rice and had dinner @1 a.m quite an experience. As it is said in the book Experience starts with experimentation.

My First Post

As i sit here jobless thinking of how my life's going to turn out,I think how i could have been a successful man had i learnt all the traditional aspects of life.I could have cleared my Engineering in 4 years,I could have been the favourite among the teachers,I could have had a normal life earning big bucks in some MNC, but I chose "The Road Less Travelled By and that has made all the DIFFERENCE" as said by Robert Frost and i do not regret any part of my life.I have been out of my normal Life for more than 6 years now and have met different kinds of people. The vivid lives that people live, the love they have lost and have found, the things that they love ,the things that they hate, some love booze some smoke up,some love music, some love dance, some love parties, some love Love and some hate such people, some love studying regular books and some love everything except studying. But i think Life is not about sticking onto one thing for the rest of your life. Its all about CHANGE.As my friend calls it you have to be tripping on something or the other to enjoy life, but i personally disagree with him.I want to experience all the aspects of living Life. There are so many things I want to do,but as it is said Its all part of growing up and being a Man.In the End It Does Matter.
